Our Friend the Holy Spirit

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
The Holy Spirit is our Friend, He is our Support, He is our Refuge, very present Help; There is always more of God than we can understand. We have an innate hunger, an inborn, instinctive, inherent, intrinsic hunger for something that only the "Comforter" satisfies. Something that only the Supernatural can satisfy. The enemy goes to great effort to deceive, distract, and destroy the Spirit within the people of God. He doesn't want you to believe that "though you walk through the valley of death, the Lord is with you, His rod and staff, Comforts you!
The most common name is the Spirit of God.
Older English translations used the phrase Holy Ghost.
This wording conjures up images of Casper and spooks.
Some origins of the word relate it to our word “guest,” and unseen guest. So the Holy Spirit is also your Holy Guest. They all are related terms for breath, breathing, breeze, or wind. Ghost came from older terms related to words like gasp. For the ancients, breathe meant life.
When a person stopped breathing, he died. Wind meant power and strength. When they sought a term for something powerful and invisible and beyond what they could control or explain, they often used this term we call spirit. It could be the spirit of man, and evil spirit, or the powerful wind of a cyclone. They didn’t mean that all of these were the same thing, simply that these were invisible mysteries.John 3:5-8 Jesus mingled these concepts in his figure of speech to Nicodemus: I tell you the truth; no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Marvel not that I say unto thee, you must be born again. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God—the unseen, the personal, the powerful presence of the Holy God of the Universe. It is not enough to worship God as we conceive him, or imagine him, or wish him to be. He is real; he is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He is not, as Plato said of the Greek gods, our own shadows projected on the wall of the cave by the campfire. No! God is God. The God of the Old Testament was not one God, and then the God of Jesus developed, and then later the God of Pentecost, another God. The God we serve is not a God who is way off somewhere, inaccessible, esoteric, unavailable, unreachable, .
He is Real and He is Near!
He is True, He is Authentic,
He is a Fact, He is Eternal,
He is Everlasting, He is Timeless,
He is Faithful, He is Powerful,
He is Robust, He is Mighty,
He is Distinguished, He is Enormous,
He is Stately, He is Notable,
He is Lord of Lord,
He is King of Kings,
Thou alone art most high, and the most powerful,
Thou alone most sufficient and most full,
Thou alone most sweet and most full of consolation.
Thou alone are most lovely and the most loving,
Thou alone most noble and glorious above all things;
He is the Spirit of God. He is the Spirit of Jesus.
Romans 8:9, he says that anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not know Christ. Romans 8:11 links the Holy Spirit with the resurrection power of Jesus.
To know the Holy Spirit is to know Jesus,
To know Jesus is to know the Holy Spirit.
Jesus says, I will not leave you comfortless.
Jesus says, I will not leave you desolate, barren, bleak, deserted, depressed, grim, gloomy,
You're not orphans. He didn’t live, die and go away to abandon you. You are not on our own, You're not forsaken, You're not left behind, forgotten about,
You're not unloved, Jesus loves me, Jesus Love you, Yes Jesus Love me, for the Bible tells me so, Little ones to him....
You're not uncared for,
You're not by yourself, I have seen the lightening flashing, I have heard the thunder roll, I've felt sin breakers dashing, trying to conquer my soul, I heard the voice of Jesus saying, Fight on....
You're not without a Friend, What a Friend we have in Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, What a privilege it is to carry, Everything to God in prayer. Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pains we bare, all because we do not carry everything to the Lord in prayer..You're not left alone, Never alone, Never alone, I don't have to worry, I'm never alone, He walks beside me, All the way, He guides my footsteps, Every day, And let me tell you, Never again, Will I be insecure anymore, Because Ye though I walk, through the valley of the shadow of death, The Lord is with me, Thy Rod, Thy Staff, They Comforts me....
Thank God, for His Spirit,
The Spirit of God is personal,
The Spirit of God is powerful,
The Spirit of God is the presence of the Living God working in
and working through us.
The Holy Spirit sanctifies us,
The Holy Spirit purifies us,
The Holy Spirit justifies us,
And every once in a while,
I tell him, breath on me,
Breath on me,
Breath on me,
Breath on me,
