My Sister; Patricia Scales

My Sister Patricia Scales; a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church in Memphis where I served that congregation for a decade as Senior Pastor was kind enough to purchase an angel ticket for the Barack Obama Inauguration Celebration sponsored by Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Among the many people who supported this event, I personally thank you Pat. Y'all Pat and her husband, Richard (I will tell you about Richard later) are very much responsible for me being the person that I am in ministry! Many years ago when they were stationed in Port Hueneme, California (Just North of Los Angeles) and attending the Evangelistic Bapist Church, they initiated an invitation from the church and then pastor, the Late Doctor Albert Southall for me to come and preach the youth day in 1980 something... a long time ago! Smile! It was my first flight, first preaching engagement out of the tri-state area and first recording and first "hit"! Dont act like you dont know what "Hit" means! I preached a sermon, "A Midnight Prayer Will Work" and Baby the Lord showed up some kinda big! When I returned to Memphis it was blasting all over the radio stations that Rickey Harvey had been to Los Angeles and hit! Whatever! The Gospel DJs got the recorded sermon and played it repeatedly on the radio and calls starting coming in from everywhere. In those days, people invited you to preach your hit sermon! Ok; got the gist of it? This could get long; all I'm trying to say is I will never forget how my sister and brother-in-law served as a instrument in my ministry in the early days.... So Thank you Pat for sending the money for the Angel ticket.. Your support and love means far more to me than the ticket purchase. We are sending you a ticket (keep sake) program, Barack Obama Cup, and yes will send you our 2009 Church Calendar! Hopefully you will attend my Installation 1st Sunday in May and my wonderful Church family will get to meet you! Much Love; Your Baby Brother! Oh, Thanks for being at Church Sunday night in Memphis.... That was good....

Wowww, thanks little brother, I feel so special being recognized like that. I thought when we first invited you to California I was selfishly grooming you for myself but it turned out that the grooming was spreaded throughout the country, and for that I am grateful. I am honored to know that Richard and I holds a special place with you on your christian journeys. Keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to move forward. May God Bless you and your family always.

Love you,
